Open Enrollment is Now Closed

Last updated Thursday, December 29, 2022

Open Enrollment for benefits-eligible employees of the University of Washington closed on November 30. This deadline is set by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA).

Approved Open Enrollment changes will go into effect on January 1, 2023. Please note, however, that due to the total volume of Open Enrollment changes made by WA State agencies, there may be a delay of up to one week after the start of the new year before your plan administrator(s) has your updated information in their system.

Visit the Changing Your Benefits page to learn about other opportunities to make enrollment changes.

If you changed your health plan during Open Enrollment, your plan provider will send your insurance ID card to the home address you’ve specified in Workday within 2 to 3 weeks of when they process your enrollment OR after your coverage effective date, whichever is later. Please note that it can take 1-2 weeks for some health plans to process your enrollment.

Note that, while the Uniform Dental Plan (PPO) does not send ID cards, they may be downloaded from the plan website.

If you need to access medical care and have yet not received your ID card, please contact your health plan directly.
