The UW is now launched in Workday!

Here are answers to the questions we’ve been asked most frequently since go-live.

  1. Where can I find my payslips from prior to Workday?
  2. Can I change the frequency of the notifications I’m getting from Workday?
  3. What should I do if it appears that people are reporting to the wrong person in Workday? Or, if people have the incorrect roles in Workday?

Where can I find my payslips from prior to Workday?

For paydays prior to July 2017, your pay information can be found in the legacy ESS system. Beginning this month, find your payslips in Workday.

For paydays prior to 6/27/17, view your payslips in Legacy ESS
For paydays from 7/10/17*, view your payslips in Workday

*After payday on July 10, your payslip for the current pay period will be available in Workday.

Access to both systems requires UW NetID credentials and enrollment in Duo, UW’s new two-factor authentication (2FA).

Can I change the frequency of the notifications I’m getting from Workday?

Yes, you can make changes to your notification preferences for certain transactions in Workday.

What should I do if it appears that people are reporting to the wrong person in Workday? Or, if people have the incorrect roles in Workday?

If something needs to be changed regarding a Supervisory Organization or a Security Role, have your HR/Academic Partner or Manager (for Medical Centers only):

Submit a Workday Supervisory Organization Change Request Form to request a new Sup Org or changes to an existing one.

I’m going on vacation and I have a Security Role in Workday. What should I do?

When you will be temporarily out of the office, you are encouraged to Delegate your Workday responsibilities.

My name isn’t right in Workday. What should I do?

The name that appears on your Worker Profile is your Preferred Name. Preferred Names are populated in Workday through an integration from Identity and Access Management. To update your preferred name, visit identity.uw.edu.

Your Legal Name is also stored in Workday. You can view or change your Legal Name from the Personal Information worklet on your homepage in Workday.

My title isn’t correct in Workday. What should I do?

The title that appears under your name on your Worker Profile is your Business Title. Business Titles in Workday were populated from the data in our Legacy ESS system. If your Business Title is incorrect or outdated, you can update it in Workday.
