Today: Last Day to Opt Out of 2017 Paper Tax Forms

January 5, 2018

Today is the last day to opt out of receiving 2017 paper tax forms. Electronic versions of the W-2, 1099R and Stipend Letters may be available in Workday as soon as next week. Paper tax forms will not be mailed until January 25.

Employees who have opted out of receiving paper tax forms will be notified by email on the day their tax documents become available in Workday.

If you have not completed the opt out process by 5:00 pm tonight, the ISC will mail your 2017 paper tax form(s). If you have already opted out, thank you; no more action is required.

The University of Washington strongly encourages all employees to opt out of receiving paper W-2 tax forms, and to instead retrieve tax information online through Workday.

Opt Out Now:

  1. From the Pay worklet in Workday, under View, select My Tax Documents.
  2. Under Printing Election, select Edit. Then select OK at the bottom of the next screen.
  3. Select the Receive electronic copy of my Year End Tax Documents button (the red asterisk just means one of the two choices must be selected), select OK at the bottom of the screen, then select Done.
Feel free to contact ischelp@uw.edu with any questions.
