With Tax Day around the corner, many employees are looking for tax help. As a reminder, neither the ISC, nor your HR or payroll administrators, can provide tax advice. However, employees with household incomes below $66,000 – including international students – are eligible for free tax preparation services through the United Way of King County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
VITA Services Offered at the UW
IRS-certified UW Master’s in Taxation students are offering VITA services to eligible individuals now through April 17, 2020 at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center on the UW campus. Services are available three days a week:
- Mondays, 4:00-8:00 pm
- Wednesdays, 4:00-8:00 pm
- Fridays, 12:00-4:00 pm
Please note: the UW VITA site will be closed during Spring Break, March 23-27.
For more details, including a list of what you must bring with you, visit the UW VITA page.
VITA Services Offered Throughout Seattle
If the UW dates or location don’t work for you, VITA sites can also be found throughout the Seattle area. To find a tax site near you – or to find a site that offers tax preparation services in Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Russian or Amharic – visit the United Way’s Free Tax Help page.
